The Opportunity

Here at QVC Germany, we are on the search for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing advanced analytics team, in Düsseldorf. Reporting to the VP Advanced Analytics in UK, you will develop models, programming and data engineering. This job is a hybrid working role.

Your Impact

  • You will develop models, programming & data engineering

  • You'll define new and advanced analysis techniques and approaches

  • You will ensure the stability and quality of our models

  • In cooperation with different internal partners, you will define our requirements and the relevant indicators of success.

  • You will present results and advise the business on the usability of the results

  • Within the introduction of new methods you will take on tasks in the area of change management

  • In cooperation with our IT teams you define requirements for the technology stack

  • You will optimise existing methods, technologies and tools and keep yourself informed about new trends in the market

  • You will help train and onboard new colleagues, less experienced data scientists and engineers

What You Bring

  • You will have a Masters degree (PhD preferred) in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or another quantitative discipline

  • You will have several years of professional experience in data engineering, especially with advanced SQL and big data pipeline skills

  • You'll have over 3 years of experience in machine learning with frameworks (such as Scikit-Learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Mllib)

  • Excellent knowledge of analytical techniques, especially in the field of machine learning and pattern recognition and optimization

  • Experience using Big Data platforms (Spark, Hadoop) for large data volumes

  • You will have knowledge of cloud technology stacks (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data visualization tools and applications (Tableau, Qlickview, PowerBI)

  • You should have very good knowledge of at least one scripting language like Python (preferred) or R

  • Knowledge of container platforms, e.g. dockers

  • Business-oriented presentations of complex concepts for a business audience

  • You will simplify workflows and communicate complex statistical concepts in a simple way
