Your profile

We are looking for a Department Lead for Data Engineering (F/M/X) with a strong customer focus and:  

• Proven experience in the design and implementation of data warehouse and analytics solutions for medium-sized and enterprise companies  
• Applied knowledge in different data modeling approaches and data integration patterns as well as common architecture documentation techniques  
• Experience in leading teams and defining development processes  
• Structured approach in requirements engineering with business departments and IT  
• Practical experience in working with data analytics, data warehouse and reporting solutions
• Very good knowledge of the Azure Data Stack -- Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake and Power BI as well as Azure Fundamentals  
• Skills in using Databricks, Snowflake and/or Spark  
• Knowledge of infrastructure and deployment automation  
• Solid experience in general programming - ideally Python, SQL, C# and PowerShell  
• Communicating clearly and effectively in German and English 

Your tasks

• Technical responsibility for the planning and implementation of analytics solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform  
• Leading the data engineering department (~10 people)  
• Design of data architectures and data models for analytical applications  
• Requirements Engineering and KPI Definition  
• Hands-on project work in the field of data integration and/or reporting/analysis  
• Know-how transfer both internally and to the customer
