Job Description: This position is contingent upon contract award (or funding approval). Applicants will be contacted as updates become available. Thompson Gray is seeking onsite Data Operations Specialists to support U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) in Germany and other listed locations as the command transitions to a data-centric operating model. This role is designed for experienced data professionals who embed directly within Army Directorates and Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) to modernize how operational data is produced, shared, and used. This is a hands-on, mission-focused role that blends data engineering, analytics, and organizational enablement. You will work side-by-side with military and civilian staff to replace static reporting with live, collaborative, decision-ready data environments.

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time Onsite

Worksite details: Onsite (MUST BE ONSITE, NO OPTION FOR REMOTE SUPPORT)

Clearance Required: Active Secret (TS/SCI strongly preferred)

Qualifications: 10+ YOE and MA/MS or BA/BS + 18 or HS/AS + 22 (substitution/exception options will be considered)

Positions Available: 20 (across locations specified)

Duties will include:

  • Onsite with identified customer and stakeholders (i.e. intelligence, operations, logistics) to support data-intensive missions

  • Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines in operational environments

  • Develop dashboards, analytics products, and workflows that eliminate reliance on static or "stale" data

  • Act as a player-coach, improving data literacy and fluency across military and civilian staff

  • Help establish and technically guide functional Data Cells within host organizations

  • Support cross-organization and cross-theater data integration, including NATO-aligned initiatives

  • Deliver capability within established frameworks in collaboration with government stakeholders and technical teams

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, analytical, or related field
  • Experience with the following platforms or tools strongly preferred:
    • Enterprise Big Data and Analytics (i.e. platforms leveraging Palantir and cloud-native technologies)
    • Palantir Foundry
    • Power BI
    • Snowflake
    • Databricks
    • Looker
    • Apache Airflow
    • Palantir or similar big-data platforms
  • Programming proficiency (Python, TypeScript, Scala, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience building or supporting data pipelines, workflows, or DAG-based systems (Extract - Transform - Load (ETL) processing)
  • Working knowledge of modern data architectures (batch, streaming, or hybrid)
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, high-visibility environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with operational stakeholders

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Army, DoD, or NATO missions
  • Familiarity with Maven Smart System (MSS)
  • Experience with Advana (specifically Palantir driven components)
  • Experience working in overseas or deployed environments
  • Understanding of Army staff processes or operational planning
