Job Description

Purpose

The data engineer develops, constructs, tests and maintains architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems, and ensures that architecture fully supports requirements of the business.                                                                                

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Analyze complex data elements, data flows, and dependencies to contribute to conceptual, logical, and physical BI and data warehouse models.
• Design, build, implement, and maintain data warehouse and BI structures to support business needs and reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes within the Microsoft BI Suite (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) and integrate external data sources into Telekom’s data environment.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of BI and reporting solutions for Telekom’s enterprise customer and TSI sales areas.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into efficient data models and reporting solutions.
• Apply agile working principles within interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuous delivery and high-quality results.
• Support AI-based forecasting and predictive analytics initiatives using modern tools and methods.
• Maintain version control and CI/CD pipelines for BI solutions using GitLab.
• Document BI processes and data models using UML and maintain clear communication with technical and business teams

Qualifications

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

• Have a University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Have experience in business analysis and solution design, particularly within BI or data-driven environments.
• Possess development experience with the Microsoft BI Suite (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
• Have a basic understanding of data warehouse architecture and ETL processes.
• Understand Telekom’s sales processes, especially in the enterprise customers / TSI area (preferred).
• Have working knowledge of UML and GitLab for documentation and version control.
• Bring a basic understanding of AI and cloud architectures (Azure, GCP, or similar).
• Are skilled in analytical thinking, identifying complex relationships in data, and presenting them clearly.
• Communicate effectively in German and English (B2 level) and enjoy teamwork in an agile setting.
• Are willing to travel occasionally to or within Germany.
• speak English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI for reporting and visualization.
• Experience with Innovator tool for data modeling and documentation.
• Exposure to AI-based forecasting (predictive analytics).
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.

Salary

Final salary is negotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 1500€ /brutto.
